The pine boards are cut to size, glues and used my Kregg to screw the boards together. Once the glue dried, the boards are sanded and painted with one coat of white paint.
Waiting game….once the paint dried, I lightly sanded the paint off boards to show some of the good grain.
Once I achieved the look I was happy with, I watered down and wiped on brown glaze to make the board look antique. The glaze darkens the white paint and brings out the wood that was exposed from sanding.
The finish I was looking for 🙂
Next is to cut, sand, stain and put together the shelf. Of course there was a knot that was giving me issues….after it was sanded. Good thing for glue!
I already have the art that I wanted to paint on the sign. I cut, glue, sanded and nailed according to what would fit.
Stained, painted, varnished and ready for my hand painting. Hope this goes well.
Shelf is stained, varnished attached to the boards along with the hooks.
